Abusive Behavior and Challenges which overweight people often face
Overweight people face numerous challenges in everyday life, which could be even violent in nature to the psyche of the person. Overweight person gets often singled out, in extreme cases there is shouting, spitting at or attacked by hooligans at large. The fat people are prejudiced.
There have been real violent incidents, one of which relates to a fat lady traveling in a train, when a fellow lady passenger hit her for the baseless reason of occupying space of two seats and got down at the next station before the police could arrive.

Incidents of Abusive Behavior:
There are reports of abusing incidents involving fat persons and hit by empty beer cans by youngsters roaming about. There are certain basic courtesy traditions and norms in respect of behavior, mutual respect, which are ignored and flouted when interacting or overacting with overweight individuals and it becomes amusement for spectators. If there is any one taking side with overweight person he is also not spared.

No doubt there is increase in the number of fat persons, hence it has become increased affair of prejudiced treatment to overweight persons it has taken the shape of a movement, which is triggered by the tolerant nature of overweight person and indifferent behavior of the spectators enjoying at the plight of an overweight person.

Liberties & Rights at Risk:

The attacks on the liberties and rights of overweight persons, is an unprovoked attack and can not be dismissed as an isolated incident. It is worst shape of mischievous activity of civilized persons acting like gangs, which one day shall be encouraged to indulge in other crimes not thought of.

Verbal attacks are a daily routine commenting about the contents of trolley being moved by an overweight person in a self service store. Abusing overweight persons in the street are very common occurrences hitting the psyche of an overweight person.

The statistics about overweight Persons:

A universally true scenario of overweight population is that 60% of adults are overweight with 26% obese among them. As regard children population about 28% children are overweight with 15% obese among them.
There has been increase in obesity surgery by 40 % over the last year. There shall be sharp increase in the overweight and obesity population, if preventive measures are not implemented on mass scale.

Unreasonable Indiscrimination:

Discrimination on any ground is strongly resented and fought for such a thing happening in civilized world. Why there is no reaction in respect of worst humility for a fat person. It is an aggression on personal liberties of a fat person and the society should rise up free itself of prejudices for any class or creed.

It is assumed that overweight persons are losing their self control abilities in an environment where there is over emphasis on slimness. Apparently overweight of a person is a problem in disguise, people ignore the reasons for overweight, it can be of genetic origin, hormonal imbalance, certain diseases like thyroid dysfunction, psychological set backs etc.

Many persons wish to be slim, which is only a state of physical correction, most difficult to carry through for a long time. There are men and women who can diet for their whole life, yet not in a position to correct their vital statistics matching a slim person.

Irresponsible Media Acts:

People become intolerant due to overall moral fury, which gets fueled by the media and the Government statements about the problem pertaining to weight as viewed by the campaigners. There are some persons, who can not be slim because their genetic built up is prone to weight gain.

A person, who has addiction to food, needs to be treated as any other substance addiction. They should be provided help and support. They should be treated in the same way as people addicted to any other substance.
