Getting a Handle on Stress Eating
It seems everyone is stressed this day and age. They are stressed about money. They might have lost their job. It seems that women do this the most, but men you are not off the hook. There are some of you who grab the box of Twinkies when something doesn't go right. It is estimated that half the people in the United States do this, so how can you get yourself out of this habit?
The first way that you can get a handle on stress eating is to make sure that if you are going to do this, you have healthy items to eat. We all have our cupboards stocked with the things that are bad for us for those days. Women love chocolate and that sort of thing. You know what we are talking about. Instead, why not stock up on granola bars or trail mix which is a lot better for you and the high blood pressure you get when you are stressed? Another thing you can do in order to get your hand on this so that you don't overdo it is to keep a journal. Sometimes, the reason we eat is because we pent up all those emotions that we feel. We don't tell people right away. So why not write out those feelings so you can see how angry you are and what not. Also, by doing this you can get a plan going to help you distress. Plus if your hands are busy, you cannot reach into the chip bag. There are even some foods that are great at helping you to overcome stress. Find out what those foods are and make sure that you have some of those around for that next time when life just seems too much to bear. One of those are pistachios. There are those nights when you go home from work completely stressed. You know those nights. For one reason or another you don't have to cook so you look for the place of your choice to stop to get some food. You know this quite well. It's like the fast food joints are calling to you. Well, why not pick a place that has a healthy menu or at least a few things to choose from which are healthier for you such as a sub from Subway or something of that nature. Then you are less prone to gorge out on food. Then there are the times that you just need to go out. Get some friends together, but instead of sitting down over beer and food, then why don't you try another girl's night out. Why not go to the gym or go swimming. It doesn't matter where you vent, its right to vent and you can do this anywhere. This means, curbing your desire to wallow in salty fries and chocolate. There you have it. Stress can work wonders on you, but it doesn't have to work wonders on your eating habits. It's a great thing to look at and it's something you might like to try. So, try it today and see what you think. Articles published under this account were directly sent to this website by several authors. This is not an expert or a professional advice. |

RE: Getting a Handle on Stress Eating
The first step to stop stress eating is to be aware that you have a problem. Before you go to open the refrigerator door, ask yourself if you are actually hungry, or if you are just upset about something. If you're actually hungry and it's a set meal time, then go for it. If you're just eating because you are bored or distressed, then walk away from the kitchen. While it can be hard to just walk away, kicking the habit is easier if you replace it with other, healthier, stress busting activities and we need a blue cross california.

RE: Getting a Handle on Stress Eating
Tips:
1. Make sure to eat only when you are hungry and slow down the pace of eating so that you can enjoy your meal. Keep in mind that it takes your stomach about 15 minutes to signal to your brain that you are full. 2. Breakfast kick-starts your metabolism and giving you energy to do more during the day. People who skip breakfast often feel so hungry that they eat more later on. 3. Switch to low-fat milk, low-fat cheeses and use mustard or olive oil instead of butter and ghee. 4. Choose snacks that are nutritious and filling. Have a piece of fresh fruit, cut raw vegetables, or a small bowl of low-fat yoghurt. |
