Physical activity - The silent sentry against obesity
You know already that one of our greatest enemies is obesity. It keeps away healthiness from your lives. Obesity brings down normal activities of your life, makes you frustrated about your own body image and lastly damages the quality of life. There is some disturbance in the body energy stored and the body energy expenditure, that actually leads to obesity if, you leave some other pathological conditions.
The social culture and the family atmosphere also act as powerful influencer in obesity problem. To counterbalance this, exercise and physical activities come to your aid. This helps you to burn out excess stored – up body fat and increases the rate of energy expenditure. The aim is to make the expenditure more compared to energy intake. This process favors to reduce calories remarkably. Dietary restriction also shows calorie deficit but to the lesser extent. The ideal is the combination of both physical activity and the dietary restriction. In this process the muscle tissues get prominence and the adipose or fat tissues gradually subside in side the body and you feel physically light and healthy. This way, the associated problems like diabetes etc start showing a remarkable improvement. The glucose tolerance level improves and insulin becomes more active in doing its normal work. More so, the subject derives immense psychological benefits out of it. He/she feels an improved state of self esteem and self confidence level is also increased. The frustration about own self becomes the backbencher. On the contrary, only exercise program without dietary restriction is a big failure. In most of the case, when you do excess labor, it generates excess appetite and you eat voraciously. This facilitates fat deposition more rapidly in the already susceptible body. In initial stage self motivation is the key word. This motivation generates interest in your mind and after getting some success, the momentum increases. Here come the roles of patient’s education. There are experts in the field on diet and obesity control program. They manly make you educate. They mainly make you aware about the possible harmful effect of obesity. They also highlight on the emotional consequences of being obese. You can also easily understand the negative socio- cultural effect on an unhealthy obese body. After taking adequate information when you start the obesity reduction exercise with a moderate control about food habit the rewards will come very shortly. You will be further rewarded by the satisfaction level that you will derive out of weight reduction. Here is an important aspect also. The initial stage requires considerable time from the trainee and the trainer. Both should devote adequate time for proper motivation, timely persuasion and if required, some reinforcement from trainer side. It is not only applicable for the initial course of program. It is seen that drop out rate is alarming in such programs. This is the main reason for failure. The most obstinate type of fat deposition sometime, takes prolonged time to show any improvement. It is the testing time of your perseverance. You should have that strong level of self motivation to combat that toilsome situation. Every body wants to be looked healthy in the eyes of other. You are also not an acceptation. If the obesity problem has started disturbing you, go for some weight reducing exercise program with some dietary restriction and see the benefits in your own eye. |
