Obesity - Can it increase the chances of Cancer
It may be surprising for you but, it is true. Chances of cancer increases by a certain amount with obesity. There are many medical reports that confirm this finding. U.S.A. medical expert team has gathered huge amount of data on this area. They have seen that at lest 14-20 % cancer death is because of obesity. It is really amazing. In female it is comparatively more and in male, it is little less.

Obesity increases body surface area. This increased body surface, with abnormal fat accumulation is directed associated with more risk of cancer. This obesity related caner is having a particular liking for some specific parts of the body. Out of which digestive system comes first. Specifically, upper part of the digestive system and lower part of the intestine (colon) are likely to be affected maximally. In men, if he is obese, he is carrying more chance of developing prostate cancer. Similarly, in female, obesity enhances the possibility of breast, uterus and cervical cancer. Various medical epidemiological data have confirmed this outcome. This risk starts from weight gaining in the younger age and as the time progresses it becomes full blown. Obesity in menopausal age is also showing bad effect and chances of breast cancer are much higher in this group of women. In reproductive age, females get some protective effects against cancer due to some hormones. The protective barrier will no longer be available during menopause.

This is the direct effect of obesity in terms of developing cancer. Obesity carries an indirect risk of developing carcinoma or cancer. It is seen that, obese people are generally overeaters of food. There is certain deraignment in them that does not allow the satiety center to work normally. Gluttony gets more priority. As a result, affected persons always feel a type of hunger within themselves. Any sort of food item gives them a type of provocation to eat. This causes unrestricted food habit in them. High calorie intake and low quality food gradually, start providing negative influence in the body system and different organs are directly affected. Unutilized food substance gets deposited in the body. Protein and carbohydrate, if not used properly, generally get converted into fat. This causes additional source of fat in the body, apart from direct fat intake. The controlling capacity of normal physiology is thereby, disturbed and body enters in a dismal condition. This total procedure hampers the body resistance to a considerable extent. The disease producing germs, step by step, gain access in side the body, owing to the weakness and body by that time, becomes good harbinger for various diseases including cancer.

Some medical authorities believe strongly that obesity is a chronic disease and the mother of many associated diseases. It is responsible to impose additional load on the society and the negative after- affect may last for life time. It not only causes serious diseases like cancer; furthermore, it increases the annual medical cost and imposes a heavy burden on the shoulder of the patient. Once cancer is detected, it becomes little difficult to eradicate the same but, if, the subject pays some attention in controlling the additional fat deposition from early stage, he / she can avoid many unwanted problems in coming future.
