7 Tips For Being Your Own Trainer
Even if you are unable to afford a personal trainer you can still utilize many of the tools that a personal trainer would encourage you to use if you were working with them. Apply the following 7 tips to your own life today!
1. Build it into your schedule! Schedule your workouts into your day and week. If you take the attitude that you will simply fit in a workout whenever you can during your week you will quickly find that you do not have time for your workouts. You must make time and protect it. Make sure that your workouts are built into your schedule! 2. Read up on getting fit and eating right! Go to a bookstore or order books online related to weight loss, fitness, healthy eating, and a healthy lifestyle. Spend time each day reading and learning from experts in these fields. Apply the information in their books to your own life. You may be amazed with the results that you begin to see! If you do not have the money or do not wish to spend your money on these books, head to your local library and borrow books on these topics. Another great idea for collecting these resources is to partner with family and friends and split the costs of the books that you are wanting to buy. This way you can get a wide range of resources and you can all benefit from the books that you buy! 3. Plan out your workout! Plan out your workout before you do it. This will help you get a workout at the intensity and duration that you are wanting. If you simply decide to workout until you feel like not working out anymore than your workout is going to be shorter and it will lack the intensity of a workout that is led by a trainer. Plan out your workouts ahead of time so that you know exactly what you need to do when your time to workout arrives. It is also great to have a plan because then you can know when you have met your goal. It is always best to have a clear goal so that you can be proud of yourself when it is met or even exceeded! Set up a workout plan that is right for you and that pushes you. Your goal should challenge you but also be attainable. You want to give yourself a strong opportunity to succeed! There are enough roadblocks in the way already keeping you from your goals. Don’t let your unrealistic expectations be a roadblock that keeps you from feeling and achieving success. 4. No excuses! If you were meeting regularly with a trainer, your trainer would make sure that you are not letting excuses get in the way of you reaching your goals. Do not let excuses or roadblocks get in your way. Fight for the life that you want and need. Don’t let yourself get sidetracked along the way. Stay focused each and every day on your goals. 5. Make your goals measurable. Make your goals very clear and measurable. Break them down so that you know exactly what you need to be doing each day to reach your goals. Large goals are not met in one day. Instead, they are met by making small good decisions day after day. Do the small things that you need to do today so that you can achieve the big results that you want to get in the future. 6. Be deliberate. Use your time to workout fully. Use your allotted time for working out and accomplish what you need to accomplish during that time. Do not workout with a weak intensity or for a shortened intensity because you simply do not feel like working out. Instead, base your workouts upon your intent and not upon your feelings. Do not even think about whether or not you feel like doing your workout. Be deliberate and focus on the task that you have before you. Recognize that your workout is extremely important and that it must be done whether or not you feel like doing it! 7. Consult your doctor! If you have any questions or concerns about what workouts are appropriate for your needs or your specific health situation always make sure that you speak to your doctor. Use your doctor as a valuable resource and team member in your weight loss journey! |
