What is a Beer Belly and How Do You Get Rid of It?
You have heard the term beer belly before. Many get the image of the husband sitting in front of the television with the beer in hand with the stomach protruding. But what exactly is a beer belly? Let’s help you to understand just what it is. It is after all becoming quite common and many people are finally saying enough is enough. So if you have a beer belly but don’t quite understand what it is we are here to help you. We might even be nice enough to help you learn how to get rid of it.

Beer bellies are really common in men. Don’t laugh ladies. You can have them too. They are not so gender specific after all. Though it is called a beer belly, while beer can help it grow, beer really doesn’t’ have much to do with it. We don’t know how they came up with that term, but we bet there is a funny story behind it.

When you eat and your metabolism just plain out sucks, you start stacking up the calories. As you read this you might be saying hey that’s me! Well, when you have this happening in the body the fat gets stored up in the torso area. Thus, it created the beer belly.

Now we mentioned earlier that women don’t normally have beer bellies. Some do though. We won’t say that women never have this problem because that would be a flat out lie. The reason that most women don’t have them is where they store their fat. Most of their fat goes straight to their thighs. Sometimes even the butts. Men, you are just lucky to get it all in the abdomen.

So, how do you lose it? Well, we are sorry to say, the first step is cutting down on your calories. Beer is one of the things that can add on the calories and add to that beer belly of yours. You might want to cut back a bit. But that isn’t all that you can do.

Another thing that you can do that will help you to lose your beer belly is that you can get up off your butt and do more. They say that an active life can shed some pounds. Boy was they right about that too. Instead of watching that favorite television show why don’t you go for a walk? If you just can’t help it and you have to catch your show get a walking machine and watch as you walk. Why do you just have to sit around?

Some people go ahead and say I can’t do this alone. They join one of them fitness programs and have a ball with it. Before long, you will say goodbye to that beer belly of yours and hello to a six pack. Test it and try it. Make that your New Year’s challenge. When you lose the beer belly you will feel better about yourself. It can also help your back as well as you aren’t carrying so much weight.
