Major Problems Obese People Face with Their Medical Insurance Company
It is true that many people who are obese have tons of problems ahead of them. Many felt hat they should get some support from their insurance company, but that doesn’t seem to be the case for most people who are obese. It’s just the opposite for them actually.

There are some people who find it hard to even find any insurance because they are overweight. Why is this? Everyone wonders about this. The answer is plain and simple. Obese people are just too much of a risk. It is proven that obese people are a liability to insurance companies.

Why do insurance companies feel this way? The reason that they feel this way is because of the fact that much research has been done on this topic. Obese people are at a higher risk for a lot of chronic illnesses and conditions. It has been well documented that some of the more serious illnesses that overweight people have higher risks of developing are heart diseases, cancer, and diabetes. When talking of diabetes it is common for the obese person to develop type II diabetes which makes a person dependant upon insulin for the remainder of their lives.

Due to the fact that these people would need more medication and such, they tell them no. Then there might have been double the chances of being hospitalized and some of those hospitalizations could be due to extreme conditions which would mean more surgeries and longer stays at the hospital, insurance companies just don’t even fool with the chances.

If however, an obese person is lucky enough to have health insurance, there are often other ways that the health insurance companies do wrong to these people. One of those ways is by making them pay even more for this coverage. That price is doubled sometimes by setting marks so that if you surpass that weight you have to pay this amount. Then they double it even more if you drink excessively or you smoke. They almost try to jack the price up so that obese people say screw it, it isn’t even worth my time.

Then there is one last way that many obese people feel jipped. There are many surgeries that the obese person can have. They can have a band placed that will shrink the amount they eat. There are pills that they can take which have been FDA approved and so forth. There are people who need surgeries to lose weight as the doctors have steered them to the decision that for their and their family’s sake they need to find some extreme measure to get their weight under control. They have this opportunity, but the insurance companies say they will not cover it. They say that there is no dying reason for it. How fair is it?

The same is true of things that could rid excess fat after a person rids the weight. Some have lost hundreds of pounds. They now have sagging fat. The insurance companies won’t help with liposuction or such. The thing costs way more than the average person can pay. Tell us how that is justified? There you have it. Health insurance at it’s best but refusing to help those who need help the most.
