Commercial weight loss products and Your Health
Are commercial weight loss supplements safe for human health - Weight often threatens people from all ages and walks of life as a confounding puzzle. Some blame it on their sweet tooth, some to their enmity against sweating it out, but the truth is that a problem like obesity runs much deeper than it seems. What comes as an instant respite for those unable to shed the pounds is the ‘easy weight loss product'. But what if the product you spend your time and money on is not worth it.

Newspapers, journals, television and internet are brimming with new inventions-discoveries-breakthroughs that claim to make you lose weight without having to sweat and without being famished. Simply put, they make you lose weight without putting in any effort or energy. But the picture is not as rosy and the troubles that could follow these quasi effective products buffalo most of us.

It must be understood that weight loss starts when the expenditure of energy of the body throughout a day exceeds the energy intake through food. When this process repeats over a period of time, then you shed pounds. But the only concern with weight is not just to get rid of it, but also to keep the flab at bay. Losing weight through a lot of struggle and time and regaining it all over again is neither healthy nor desirable.

Sauna belts, electronic gadgets, diet pills and many such products target customers who seek an easy alternative to exercise or diet. For the sake of argument we are considering only the effective weight loss products which can actually make you lose weight over some time of persistent use. Consider for instance a weight loss pill that interferes with the food absorption process of your body and thus allows you to binge more food without having to worry about the flab it could have been turned into. Using such pills over some time could actually help you put on less weight with the food you eat, and on coupling it with the right exercise you may be able to lose fat. But what happens next is an equally interesting phenomenon. The body when comes out of this system of eating but not absorbing enough enters an all new system that it had never been before in. Not only does the absence of the pill from your schedule allows it to have no bar on the amount it absorbs from the food you eat, the long starvation that the body went through makes the fat cells that store the fat in your body famished. The food that you eat now would make the flab return with a vengeance since your body would try to store more fat than ever.

Most importantly, the use of such easy products severely hampers your weight management skills and cripples you against being able to sustain the weight loss. What good would be a regime that temporarily helps you lose weight but blindfolds you for the long term effects? Weight loss is not an activity to be concentrated over a short time span, but a summation of healthy habits of eating and exercising that keep you slim and fit. If any products are to be used, then moderation should be the key. Do not focus the regime on the product only, but use them for a head-start and gradually lessen your dependence on them. Remember to inculcate healthy habits which would pay off in the long run.
