The Different Types of Women Contraceptives
Women Contraceptives Types: For women, it might not be the right type to have children. Sometimes women just want to wait a while for a number of reasons. However, there are some women who don't know the different forms of birth control that a woman can choose from. That is why we are here to help you learn about the different types of birth control.
The first types are called barrier condoms. They have this sort for men and women. Most of them are made of latex and have spermicidal on them so that it kills the sperm before it can enter the vagina. For women, the most common barrier condom is called a diaphragm. This goes into the vagina and covers the cervix. The only down side to the female barrier is that you do have to apply this barrier three hours in advance. Birth control also comes in a pill form. You have to take this every day by mouth. One pill a day does the trick. However, in some cases, when you are ready to conceive, you have to quit three months in advance. There are other ways that birth control is given. There are two medications that can be injected into the woman. These are Lunelle and Depo-Provera. Lunelle doesn't prevent pregnancy for as long as Depo-Provera. One injection of Lunelle is only good for a month. One injection of Depo-Provera is good for three months. If you find that you need more hormones and you want something that you probably won't feel as well as something that has been shown to be efficient then one might suggest Nuva Ring. This is inserted into the vagina. It remains there for three weeks. The down side to this form of birth control is that it must remain out for a week before another one can be placed. Now, some of you might have heard about the patches. You will find these nice. The hormones are on the patch. They are administered to the sticky side of the patch. When you put the patch on, those hormones are absorbed through the skin. You can place these patches on one of three areas. These are the upper arm, the butt, or the hip. You wear them for three weeks and then the fourth week you take it off. This allows you to have a menstrual cycle. There is one last form of birth control. This is called the IUD. This one has to be done by a professional in the medical field. This is placed into the uterus. The plastic device has the hormones in it. When you have sex, the sperm will still enter the vagina, but it will change the mucus in the cervix so you don't have a chance or as high of a chance of getting pregnant. You didn't know you had so many options did you ladies? All of them come with at least a ninety percent chance of still getting pregnant. If you are looking for the right one for you, discuss this with your doctor and learn all the facts. Articles published under this account were directly sent to this website by several authors.
