Problems Faced By Fat People While Traveling
Fat people face a lot of problems while traveling, particularly while using airplane and public transport. Everything in the world seems to be tailored towards the needs of thin people. And this fact becomes particularly clear when traveling.

Airplane seats are too small for overweight or obese people. To the extent that several airlines require them to buy an extra seat. Without going into the merits of the matter (which is currently a subject of much debate), this poses a great problem for obese passengers, at least in cost terms. But not only air seats are too small for obese people. Even restaurant and café chairs are too small, as well as many entrances to public buildings are too narrow for obese people to pass through. And finally, let us consider hotel rooms: everything is too small here. From the bathroom, to the bed, to the furniture.

But that is not all. Obese people are often derided by strangers and they often have to deal with rude comments. This makes them feel even more discriminated than they are already. Discrimination against obese people is not at all helpful for them: it simply feeds their feeling of loneliness, shame and guilty. Try to consider this: how many times have you seen an obese person to sunbathe on a beach in swimsuit? Presumably rarely. And why does it happen? It's simple. Obese people often feel ashamed of their own body and are scared of the other's comments.

It is clear therefore that everything in our world does not meet the needs of obese people. And this is why obese people have to face plenty of obstacles when traveling, both for business and for pleasure. It is very difficult for them to travel by airplane or bus, eat out at a restaurant, adapt themselves to the narrow space of a hotel room, meet persons for business, or really enjoy a vacation.

How to solve this problem? Well, there are two alternative solutions: that obese people lose weight and become thin; or that builders and manufacturers begin to build things tailored for obese people. But, unfortunately for obese people, the second of these two alternatives is not realistic.

It's a cruel world out there. To live well in this world and society without being discriminated, people have to be thin. There is no way to escape from this.

Perhaps many obese people are tired to be told that they have to lose weight and become thin. However, it is important to remember that the main reason why obese people should lose their excess weight is not because they have a bad appearance, are discriminated or they can't sit on a restaurant chair comfortably. The only real reason why they should do it is because losing weight means staying healthy. Obese people should lose weight for themselves, not for someone or something else.
