Exercise to lose weight, Good exercises to reduce weight

By: SwatiAgarwal

Among all the other things you can do for weight loss, having an active lifestyle and exercising regularly is the best way to get in shape. I am not a specialist, therefore and any (or all) of these suggestions should be consulted by your doctor or physiotherapist. The following exercise tips are some which I follow and a few god ideas from the internet have been put together. Plan to introduce exercise at least three times a week. Doing regular exercise with a careful diet can do wonders to your weight loss plan. It is not really all that difficult, it is just a matter of taking the initiative.

1. Start with basics - walk to lose weight:
Now a days even if we have to pick-up a can of milk from a store that is just half a mile away, we almost always hop on to our car and get the work done. Introduce walking wherever you can, it's fun and helps to burn a lot of calories. Instead of taking an elevator, might as well climb the stairs if you can. Instead of chatting with your friend over the phone, tell him/her to meet in the park where you can both walk and talk. Remember to carry water with you.

2. Go on small hikes - a great way to lose weight and have fun:
I am not really suggesting to climb a hill but start with less stressful hikes where you can enjoy nature and exercise at the same time. The back-pack you carry during the hiking also helps to shed those extra pounds.

3. Make friends with active lifestyle:
Make friends who like to go around, like to play or even dance. Exercise can be fun and motivating when you see others doing it, so join a gym or a health center. Buy a pedometer and see how much you walk everyday. If you do not think any of your friends may be interested then even consider getting a dog if you like them, pets are great companions to walk with.

4. Swim - or learn swimming:
Among all the weight loss exercises, Swimming is probably the best. It helps to tone up the entire body.

5. Just don't sit on your couch:
Even doing window shopping is better than sitting at home. Go to the nearby store and imagine which dresses you would like to wear one month from now or even 6 months from now.

6. Increase your weight loss exercises gradually:
Although it's the best to exercise for 40 minutes in a day, you don't really have to start it on day one that way. If you do that then for the next 2 days you will be
sitting in pain on the very same couch we are trying to avoid. Start with 5 minutes on day one and increase by just a few minutes each day or every other day. Give yourself one day break after every few days to let your body re-gain some energy.

7. Morning exercise - best for weight loss:
Many people suggest to exercise in the morning before breakfast so that you burn your stored fat rather than the sugar you consume. If you cannot exercise empty stomach then have a small serving of juice and then start.

8. Home Gym:
If you are demotivated to go out by factors like bad weather or your work does not allow you spend time on weight loss exercises then consider buying a treadmill.

9. Be a volunteer:
Often your city or your kid's school will require volunteers for certain outdoor events. Join those and it not only helps you to get that exercise you really want, but also get to meet new people and you will certainly feel good about the work you have done.

10. Learn Yoga:
The good old Indian yoga has many benefits including many weight loss exercises. Everything in Yoga is not complicated positions, many exercises can be quite simple. But for that I do not advice you to get a DVD, instead join your nearby yoga class and let the instructor help you in the right way.

Exercising for weight loss is not only important for your body, it also makes you more energetic, have less stress and more happy. Never get demotivated by other people comments, stay on track and you should see the sweet results of your hard work.
